The year 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is very difficult for all of us.

Many organizations have switched to remote work, employees combine work tasks with household duties, go through quarantine, or struggle with poor health.

We are rapidly approaching the end of the year, but we still don’t know how work organization will look going forward. Many people are thinking about a moment of breath, relaxation, and detachment from the current situation.

Therefore, we propose organizing a remote simulation (game) for employees to thank them for their hard work, commitment, and not giving up in the face of adversity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is employee appreciation especially important during challenging times?

During periods of uncertainty such as remote work transitions or crises, employees often feel isolated and undervalued. Expressing gratitude boosts morale, reinforces a sense of belonging, and helps maintain engagement even when working conditions are far from ideal. Research consistently shows that recognized employees are more resilient and productive.

What are effective ways to thank remote employees?

Business simulations and remote team games are excellent options because they combine appreciation with team-building in an engaging format. Other effective methods include personalized thank-you messages from leadership, virtual celebration events, and small surprise gifts delivered to employees’ homes. The key is making the gesture feel genuine and tailored to the team.

How do business simulations work as employee appreciation tools?

Business simulations like RAVEN 13 or MIR 91 provide immersive, gamified experiences where teams collaborate to solve challenges in a fun, low-pressure environment. They serve a dual purpose: showing employees that the organization values their well-being while simultaneously strengthening teamwork and communication skills.

How often should organizations recognize employee contributions?

Recognition should be an ongoing practice, not limited to year-end events or annual reviews. The most effective organizations build appreciation into their daily culture through regular feedback, peer recognition programs, and periodic team celebrations. Frequent, specific recognition has a far greater impact than infrequent grand gestures.
