Day 1: Requirements engineering fundamentals and elicitation
- Introduction to requirements engineering — definition, role in the project lifecycle, RE in Agile vs Waterfall, IREB standard
- Types of requirements — functional, non-functional (quality), constraints, business vs system vs stakeholder requirements
- Requirements elicitation — techniques (interviews, workshops, observation, surveys, prototyping, document analysis) — when to use which
- Stakeholders and context — stakeholder identification, influence analysis, system context modeling (context diagram)
- User stories and acceptance criteria — format (As a/I want/So that), INVEST, Acceptance Criteria vs Definition of Done
- Exercises: stakeholder identification, requirements elicitation (interview simulation), writing user stories with criteria
Day 2: Documentation, validation and requirements management
- Requirements documentation — natural language (templates, writing rules), models (UML use case, activity diagram, state diagram)
- Requirements specification — SRS document structure, IEEE 830/ISO 29148, prioritization (MoSCoW, Kano)
- Validation and verification — V&V difference, requirements quality criteria (unambiguity, testability, consistency), review and walkthrough techniques
- Requirements management — traceability (forward/backward), change management, impact analysis, configuration management
- Tools — Jira, Confluence, DOORS, ReqIF — category overview and selection criteria
- Exam preparation — IREB CPRE exam structure (45 questions, 75 minutes), sample questions, passing strategies
