The role and tasks of the manager - individual leadership and elements of coaching
The goal is to teach managers to take strong and effective leadership of their team. They will learn how to be a flesh-and-blood leader, not a manager issuing orders and regulations. The goal will be achieved through a staggered 12 months of training, developing and strengthening those personality traits associated with leadership and building a leadership attitude.

Day 1: Team roles, management styles and situational leadership
- My Role in the Team questionnaire — diagnosis of eight most common roles and corresponding behaviors in the team
- Practical guidelines for managing specific employees based on their role — minimizing conflicts, building motivation
- Management styles — autocratic, democratic, delegating, coaching — characteristics, advantages and risks of overuse
- Situational Leadership (SL II) by Blanchard — recognizing employee maturity (D1-D4) and matching style (S1-S4)
- Team development stages according to Blanchard's model — forming, confrontation, norming, performing
- Exercises: diagnosing your own management style, matching style to employee maturity levels (case study)
Day 2: Managerial coaching, delegation and conflict management
- Two dimensions of employee and team evaluation — competencies vs engagement, development matrix
- Delegating tasks, responsibilities and authority — key competencies of the situational leadership model
- Monitoring and accountability — how to enforce tasks while maintaining an inspiring leadership style
- The manager as coach — coaching tools in managerial work, GROW model, coaching questions
- 12 most common communication obstacles leading to conflict — four groups of barriers (judging, providing solutions, avoidance, sarcasm)
- Exercises: conducting a coaching conversation with an employee, giving constructive feedback (feedback sandwich vs SBI)
