z/OS Facilities

This desktop course introduces the basic components, optional features and servers that are provided in z/OS. It focuses on the system service objects that are provided by the z/OS Base Control Program (BCP). Teaches students the functions of the main software base elements in managing tasks, jobs, storage, data and problems. It also discusses how a system programmer can influence these functions.

  • You should have a basic understanding of IS technology, and you should be familiar with z/OS concepts and how these systems support Enterprise servers
  • You can gain this knowledge by attending the Introduction to z/OS environment training course
  • You should also have hands-on experience in logging into TSO and working with JCL
  • You can gain this experience by attending the z/OS Quick Start training
