- Docker Engine — installation, architecture (daemon, CLI, containerd, runc)
- Images and containers — docker build, Dockerfile, layers, cache, multi-stage builds
- Docker Hub and registries — push, pull, tagging, private registries
- Lab: building and running the first application in a container
Day 2: Networking, volumes and Docker Compose
- Docker networking — bridge, host, overlay, DNS, port mapping
- Volumes and bind mounts — data persistence, backup, drivers
- Docker Compose — defining multi-container applications, dependencies, environment
- Compose in practice — web app + database + cache in a single file
- Lab: 3-tier application with Docker Compose (frontend + API + PostgreSQL)
Day 3: Orchestration with Docker Swarm
- Docker Swarm — architecture, manager/worker nodes, Raft consensus
- Services and tasks — scaling, rolling updates, rollback
- Overlay networking — inter-service communication in the cluster
- Secrets and configs — secure sensitive data management
- Lab: Swarm cluster with load-balanced services and rolling deployment
Day 4: Docker Enterprise — UCP and DTR
- Docker Enterprise Platform — architecture, UCP (Universal Control Plane), DTR (Docker Trusted Registry)
- UCP — web UI, RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), collections, grants
- DTR — image scanning, signing (Content Trust), immutable tags, mirroring
- Supply chain security — from Dockerfile to production (signed images, vulnerability scanning)
- Lab: application deployment via UCP with image signing and RBAC
Day 5: Production, monitoring and best practices
- Logging and monitoring — docker logs, log drivers, Prometheus + Grafana
- Health checks — HEALTHCHECK in Dockerfile, restart policies, self-healing
- Backup and disaster recovery — UCP backup, DTR backup, Swarm recovery
- Best practices — security hardening, image optimization, CI/CD with Docker
- Lab: monitoring stack (Prometheus + Grafana) + CI/CD pipeline with image scanning
